our inspirations
I see trees of green, red roses, too. I see them bloom for me and you, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world...
We have been asked at different points how and why we came to choose our wedding theme and decor, or how we put together our engagement shoots and why. For some people, the most important part of the wedding is saying "I do," but for us, the most rewarding and meaningful celebration of our love for each other is in our working together to create art to express the beauty and love we see in each other and the world at large...and that includes all of you.
We met and fell in love through art. We believe working together to build an experience for each other and our families through friendship and teamwork is the ultimate expression of love. So, we set out to create a very special kind of wedding that is the culmination of many artistic projects. In fact, we have set out to have the most artistically beautiful wedding of all time! No small feat, we assure you!
we don't know what jónsi is singing, but we're pretty sure this song is what love is.
We settled on a vintage, DIY, Southern-inspired ranch wedding theme, which really lends itself to the rustic grandeur of historic Beltane Ranch. While we are both pretty crafty and are doing the bulk of the work ourselves, it wasn't feasible for us to do EVERYTHING, so we scoured the Bay Area for some like minded individuals to help us realize our vision in the home stretch. We are so excited to have the floral design genius of Svenja Brotz of Chestnut & Vine joining us on our big day. We bonded over a shared love of succulents, moss, and humane taxidermy, so don't be surprised if you see a few deer antlers interspersed with moss, succulents, and vintage farm decor!
